Geocache Description:

When: Wednesday, May 31, 2017 from 7:30am to 8am.

What: An early morning meet and greet.

Where: Spanish Banks West Parking Lot A, located along NW Marine Dr.

Why: Just to say hi!

"J" from the JREnarson caching team will be in Vancouver for work in late May / early June. However, his work conference doesn't start until noon on May 31st. Therefore, he figured it would be a great opportunity for him to explore the area.

Later this morning, "J" is planning to hike the West Canyon and East Canyon trails. He figured he'd host a meet and greet event before the hike to say hello to some of the local cachers. There will be a log book at the event for people to sign if they wish, plus we can use the event to discover and exchange TBs if people would like. If people have TBs that need to head west (at least as far as Edmonton), "J" would be happy to take them along with him.

It looks like there are some park benches just north of the parking lot, just south of the walking trails. "J" will plan on being there a bit before 7:30am to reserve the benches. It looks like there is a wheelchair ramp from the parking lot, so it should be wheelchair accessible. Hope to see you there!

As an optional activity after the official geocaching event, "J" would invite anyone to join him on the morning hike. Not sure of the exact distance, although his research suggests that the hike and any sightseeing along the way should be about an hour (i.e. going from 8am to 9am). Other than the initial climb from the trailhead to the top of the West Canyon trail, it should be a fairly simple hike. Please bring appropriate footwear. It looks like dogs are permitted, as long as they are under your control at all times (leash optional). At the end of the hike, we'll exchange high-fives and get back on our respective ways.
