Congratulations to W01f, who as the First to Find was able to help me resolve some issues that might confuse other people doing this series. I have tried to do my part to make the coordinates accurate and the descriptions as clear as possible. Please do your part by going to the posted coordinates and carefully reading the criteria before answering the questions.
The posted coordinates are to the Metro Rail parking structure at the La Cienega/Jefferson station. This is a convenient place to start either Expo West--Santa Monica or Expo East--Los Angeles. All Day parking in this lot is $3.00 using a TAP card or your license plate number.
However, you may start at any location you choose. The two multicaches are designed to be either completed at the same time or separately depending on the time you have available. One strong suggestion would be to do one of the of these multi-caches and walk to all of the nearby geocaches as you exit the Metro at each station.
This is a multi which encourages you to visit the Expo Line rail stations. Please note: you do not have to ride the Ride the Expo Line or spend any money. You can visit all of these locations by car. However, you will undoubtedly spend more on gas and parking if you drive yourself. Besides, riding the rails is more fun and will take less time than dealing with traffic.
All waypoints should be wheelchair-accessible, but the final requires being able to stand and take a few steps, so I am refraining from making this a terrain 1. Gathering information at each stop should take less than five minutes, which gives you time to explore the art and ambiance at each station. If you are not looking for any other geocaches on the route, the round trip for each multi should take about two and a half hours. If you can post how long it takes you to complete each or both of the multis, that will help others to determine how much time is needed. (No, this is not a race)
Riding the rails. You must purchase and load a Tap card before entering the platform. Cards may be purchased and loaded at any station using cash or credit card. As of this date, the 1-Way Fare is $1.75 and allow you two hours to complete each leg of a trip. NOTE: If starting at the posted coordinate, each multi can be completed using two 1-Way Fare. To complete BOTH multis will require three 1-Way Fares (unless you start at one end and go to the other in less than two hours each way). Confused? You can eliminate all concerns by purchasing a Full Day Pass for $7.00.
Directions Starting at any station, you will need to collect numbers from signs and other artifacts at each station in order to build the final coordinates. If you do decide to take the Expo Line train, which comes every 5-15 minutes or so depending on the day of the week and time of day, you should be able to gather the clues you need at each station before the next train arrives. Use the "additional waypoints" on this page to fill in these coordinates:
Fear not. Each "stage" only takes a couple of minutes. Log only. BYOP.
You can validate your puzzle solution with certitude.
