This cache is to recognize two officers and gentlemen that devoted their lives to the service of their country and who now rest in Arlington National Cemetery.
The first, Abner, is believed by some to be the inventor of baseball and was a graduate of West Point. He attained the rank of Major General and served in the Union Army during the Civil War. The second was also a graduate of West Point and attained the rank of Major General in the United States Air Force. He was Abner's "second cousin twice removed". The coordinates provided are for Abner's Plot. After reaching this plot you will find an obelisk with information about Abner that will lead you to the location of his descendant, who also followed a similar path of service to his country.
