Geocache Description:

The property for the very old Centerville Cemetery was donated by a local person in the 1800's, it is also called Brown's Canon Cemetary.

This cemetery is the oldest cemetery in the county. It has over 350 marked graves. The actual number of interments is unknown. Several old tombstones are broken or are unreadable. There are many unmarked graves.

Once called Brown's Creek in the mid 1860s, a few of the miners who had hoped for but had not found gold decided to change their line of work from searching for gold to selling supplies to those who still were panning for gold, so they took up land around Brown’s Creek for their stores.

This cache sits on top of a hill and is fairly easy to find. Let us know if you think so too. Very few muggles in the area.
