This interesting bit of Dallas' history was unearthed during planned expansion of the Expressway. The Memorial has some truly wonderful artwork in the entrance friezes. Be sure to look at both sides. There is a gate to reduce vandalism which is kept closed but not chained during appropriate viewing hours. Please close the gates as you exit. Around the perimeter are poems mounted on plaques. To verify this find, please submit the single word in ALL CAPITALS on the nearest plaque and also the Roman numeral on the friezes outside the gate. This is in no way a political statement but we would like to see Dallas' deficit (compared to Fort Worth's great opportunites) in easy downtown virtuals reduced, so we will be picking out some highlights for both local cachers and visitors.
