On Saturday, April 22, launching at 9 a.m., come join fellow geocachers as we do a little early spring cleaning and pretty up the middle reaches of the occoquan water trail. This event could last several hours for folks paddling the whole southern portion of the river.
Last year community organizers pulled over 7,900 pounds of trash out of the Occoquan River, and with some good cacher elbow grease, perhaps this year we could remove even more!
We need kayakers, canoeists, and jon boaters to support this on-the-water conservation effort. Some kayaks and canoes may be available for loan by the Prince William County Parks and Recreation Department but I can't make any promises.
Gloves, trash bags, grabbers, water, and snacks will be provided, but good prepared cachers should bring their own as backups just in case, as well as sunscreen, flotation devices, etc.
