'It's passed on! This event is no more! It has ceased to be! 'It's expired and gone to meet 'is maker! 'It's a stiff! Bereft of life, It rests in peace! If you hadn't nailed 'it to the perch 'it'd be pushing up the daisies! 'It's metabolic processes are now 'istory! 'It's off the twig! 'It's kicked the bucket, 'It's shuffled off 'is mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisible!! THIS IS AN EX-EVENT!! [xx(]

Geocache Description:

Time to clean up the environment and leave things a bit cleaner than what we found them. As such it's time for a Cache In Trash Out event!

We're going to take some time out, clean up the area and leave with a smiley for doing so...Even though it's cold outside we thought we'd get everyone together to clean up one of Hagerstown's newest park features. The Valley Road Tributary and Stream Restoration between Pangborn Park and Fairgrounds Park is a new greenway joining the two parks and providing a focal point for those who wish to exercise and also acts as a riparian buffer between the local neighborhood and Hamilton Run. The linear greenway follows Hamilton Run for about half a mile and sees quite a few neighborhood residents as well. Many often leave their garbage wherever they feel like. If you'd like to help us clean up please feel free to join us and help out.

Anyways, with all of the fine print out of the way let's get back to THIS event. This event will be hosted by yours truly. I will be supplying the following:

  • Trash Bags
  • Extra Gloves
  • Water

Items that YOU should bring with you:

  • Gloves
  • Boots
  • Long Pants (for those who are allergic to to poison ivy or wish to avoid briars, brambles or other pokey things!
  • Friends and Family
  • Grabbers

Who:
Why YOU, of course...whether you have one cache find or a thousand cache finds, please feel free to come join us for a CITO - Cache In Trash Out Event.

When:
Saturday, April 01st, 2017
09:30 AM - 10:30 AM

Where:
Posted Coordinates. At 09:45 AM we'll make our way to GZ and commence with the clean-up. We will be cleaning up light garbage on this trip. While the lion's share of this CITO will be on dry land there may be a bit of garbage down in the tributary bed. If you have a sturdy pair of boots that are capable of handling riprap that would help immensely.

Why:
To clean up the environment, talk geocaching, and trade bugs. Those who wish to may also do some geocaching before or after the event.

Extra things to keep in mind:

  • If you pick up a Travel Bug or trackable coin at one of the events, make sure you log it out so it doesn't show up in the events list. If a trackable sits as being listed in the event for a couple of months, the cache owner is the one that gets the e-mail from the TB owner(s).
  • This event will be held rain or shine.
  • Those who wish to help out with this event please come dressed appropriately. Briars, brambles, stinging nettle and poison ivy are always a possibility when traipsing through the woods. LONG pants are encouraged if you don't want to be miserable all afternoon.

Thanks to all who came out to help clean up the environment!!!
