About SideTracked Caches

We have Motorway Mayhem. We have A-Road Anarchy ('cos there aren’t many Motorways in Wales). But what about public transport users? SideTracked caches are intended to provide quick Cache-and-Dashes at Train Stations. It is hoped this idea will spread across the country in the same way as the MMs…. If hiding one PLEASE BE SENSIBLE and remember that in this day and age, public transport is under greater scrutiny than ever before, so, although these caches should be quick and easy grabs, PLEASE don’t place a Cache where it could cause alarm. For more information on SideTracked Caches, please visit SideTracked.

More Information can be found at the SideTracked Website

About Andoversford Junction station

Andoversford Junction sation was opened in 1881 as Andoversford and renamed Andoversfrd Junction in 1926 on the Great Western Railway's Banbury to Cheltenham line. Andoversford had at one time two stations this one and Andoversford & Dowdeswell located where the industrial estate is today. The reason for two stations serving such a small village was down to the awkward relations between the GWR and the M&SWJR , the GWR allowed the M&SWJR to run trains from Cheltenham thrugh to Andoversford over their lines but did not allow for the rival companies trains to stop at the station so a second station was built. which lasted until 1927 when the Andoversford & Dowdeswell station was closed and all trains heading to both Banbury and Andover would stop at Andoversford Junction.

The former station site is now the housing near the cache called Pine Halt

The Cache

The cache is located near to the former station site along a very accessable footpath.
