Geocache Description:

Unique tin church and the only one remaining in the area.

"It's a bit special because it's the only tin church in this area now. It is very well preserved."

The Church of the Holy Spirit in Stratford Road was a mission church provided for £1,000 in 1899 by Fanny Holloway, who was a member of the well known former Stroud clothing factory family.

It was built to assist the congregation who were unable to get up the hill to worship at Whiteshill Church in wintry weather.
