Skagerhults gamla kyrka är från mitten av 1600-talet. Kyrkan är byggd i timmer och har ett för landets äldre träkyrkor typiskt utseende med tak och fasad i spån. Intill den vackra kyrkan finns en öppen klockstapel med brädinklädda snedstöttor och spånklätt tak.
Efter 200 år hade församlingen vuxit ur sin kyrka, och en ny kyrka byggdes i Hasselfors. Den gamla träkyrkan stod därefter öde fram till 1927, då den restaurerades. Interiören fick då sitt nuvarande utseende och ger en bild av hur kyrkan kunde sett ut när den inreddes på 1600- och början av 1700-talet.

Skagerhults old church is from the mid 1600s. The church is built of timber and has a typical appearance of old Swedish wooden churches, with roof and façade in wood chips. Next to the beautiful church, there is an open belfry with side stanchions covered with wood and with the roof covered with wood chips. After 200 years, the congregation had outgrown their church, and a new church was built in Hasselfors. The old wooden church was then deserted until 1927, when it was restored. The interior received its current appearance and portrays a picture of what the church could have looked like in the 1600s and early 1700s.
