Event will be from 10:00am to 10:30am. Should it rain that morning, the event will be cancelled due to scrambling over slippery rocks, and an announcement will be posted prior to 8:00am.
Lace up your hiking boots, and let's meet at the first painted cross at the posted coordinates. There we can swap TB's and geocaching stories. Afterwards we can pay our respects to the four individuals who lost their lives and those who wish can spend time checking out the wreckage. There are two caches that can be searched. One is GC6ZDG0 which is very close, and the other is GCYWDN which is at the very top of the mountain. This is NOT an easy hike, but will be very rewarding. Bring plenty of water and be aware of the typical desert precautions
Arriving Av 15 E & 41St Ln turn east on the dirt road to the parking coordinates. For 4WD or ATV's STAY LEFT. The main dirt road turns right. Don't go that way. Instead stay left going through a few washes and the road turns southeasterly. For those with high clearance the road becomes a steep hill to the trailhead. For others find a place to park before the hill. Allow about two hours from the beginning of the dirt road to the posted coordinates.
