About SideTracked Caches

This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. It is not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view. It's a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More information can be found at the SideTracked Website.

About Erdington Station

Erdington station was opened in 1862 as part of the (then) London and North Western Railway (LNWR) branch from Aston to Sutton Coldfield (later extended to Lichfield). The LNWR became part of the London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) in 1923, which in turn became part of British Railways in 1948. The station was completely rebuilt in the early 1990s when the line was electrified.

The letters LMS can still be seen in faded paint on the side of the bridge - a remnant of the time when steam trains regularly passed overhead.

About this cache

This is the third SideTracked cache to be placed at this station - the previous two have been archived. You are looking for a magnetic cache, containing a log-book only, which has been disguised to blend in with it's surroundings. The log is small so please just initial the log to save space. Tweezers may be required.
