Bienvenue à Saint-Python!
Le nom de Saint-Python vient de Saint-Piat, patron de la paroisse et évangélisateur du Tournaisis. Son corps fut transpercé de longues broches de fer puis il fut décapité avant d’être enterré à Tournai.
Dans le Nord, seulement trois églises sont dédiées à Saint-Piat : la collégiale de Seclin, l’église Saint-Piat de Roncq et l’église de Saint-Python. Cette dernière abrite des reliques du Saint.
Welcome to Saint-Python!
The name of Saint python comes from Saint-Piat, boss of the parish and evangelist of the Tournaisis. His body was pierced by long iron brooches then he was decapitated before being buried in Tournai.
In the North, only three churches are dedicated to Saint-Piat: the church of Seclin, the church Saint-Piat of Roncq and the church of Saint-Python. The last one shelters relics of the saint.
