Farol Molhe do Douro

Detentor do Prémio Secil de Engenharia Civil 2009 pela Secil - Companhia Geral de Cal e Cimento, SA e pela Ordem dos Engenheiros, o molhe é uma obra da autoria do Engenheiro Fernando Silveira Ramos. Estrutura construída na margem norte da embocadura do rio Douro para resistir à ação direta das ondas de tempestade e das correntes das grandes cheias, onde estão incorporados mais de 65.000 m3 de betão e 2.500 toneladas de aço. Local ideal para um passeio a pé de onde se obtém uma fantástica vista panorâmica, podendo também ser percorrido o seu interior, até ao farol.

Douro Quay Beacon

The quay, designed by Engineer Fernando Silveira Ramos, was awarded the Civil Engineering Secil Award 2009. This structure was built on the northern bank of the River Douro's mouth to resist the direct action of the storm waves and big floods currents. It bears over 65,000 m3 of concrete and 2,500 tons of steel. It is the perfect spot for a walk into the sea, offering an amazing view. You can also walk it through inside up to the beacon.
