This is a cache placed very close to Swannington Parish Church of St George.
It is situated very close to a very busy road so care and stealth will be required and the cache contains only a log sheet, so please bring your own pen.
The parish church of Saint George was built in 1825 and was opened to serve the the villages of Swannington and Thringstone. It is reputedly built on a spot chosen by William Wordsworth who was a regular guest of Sir George Beaumont at nearby Coleorton Hall. So it is possible that the dedication of the church to St George is derived from this association to George Beaumont.
PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A CACHE AND DASH DUE TO ITS CLOSE PROXIMITY TO A VERY BUSY ROAD/JUNCTION. PLEASE PARK RESPONSIBLY AND NOT ON THE MAIN A512.
