Erected in 1920 this is a Grade II Listed War Memorial - listed as "structure of special architectural or historic interest".
It is a tribute to local men killed in World War I (the Great War) to which the names of those lost in World War II were subsequently added.
It also records six civilian fatalities - four members of The Henderson Family along with Harriet Barnes and John C Long and Rhoda E Wilkes. Such an inclusion is quite unusual.
