This cache will guide you to one of Tachileiks most impressive sights, the Shwedagon Pagoda.
A rikshaw from the center will cost no more than 100 Baht. Don't wonder, all is priced here in Thai Baht and it's hard to deal with the local currency.
This pagoda is a smaller replica of the famous Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar’s capital city. It has about 1/5 of the size and was finished in 1998 (sorry, this information could be inaccurate).
You have to leave your shoes out and a local lady will guide you to some of the attractions around the pagoda. And you can take part in a ritual where you will stand on the marking of the weekday of your birth and throw 3 cups of water at one object, 2 cups of water at another one then one cup of water at a further object.
The cache:
The cache is a filmbox like closed canister and placed outside the fenced pagoda area. You can access it from the stone bench or from the lower layer behind. Be careful of muggles, it's better to use the spoiler picture than getting attention by too much searching. Sorry, there is no space for coins or TBs.
May 2018: The location is sometimes very crowded and it may happen that the cache gets lost. If you have a little replacement box thereby feel free to put it on the designated place and give me a short notice. This makes life easier for my counterpart who maintains the cache. Thanks.
