DATE/TIME: Saturday, December 10 from 11:30AM until 3PM.
LOCATION: Brighton Town Park. Carmen Clark Lodge. Plenty of parking and a nearby playground if the weather is nice enough. The lodge is an enclosed, heated building that holds 100 people. It has indoor restrooms, two working fireplaces, and a kitchen with refrigerator, stovetop, and oven.
PARK RULES: No pets, smoking, or helium balloons in the lodge and no alcohol anywhere in the park! Please do not feed the wildlife. (Passing along the primary rules that we might encounter.)
ADDITIONAL INFO: Important additional information has been posted on Facebook and the GeoRoc forum (https://www.reddit.com/r/georoc/comments/5f2a5j/10th_annual_georoc_holiday_family_event/).
FOOD & DRINK: Please bring a dish to pass or beverages (no alcohol). Post what you’re bringing and I’ll keep a running list below. We will not be doing any grilling. Crock pots welcome (I'll have power strips available) and there is a stovetop and oven available.
EVENT ACTIVITIES: Below are the activities planned so far. Let me know if you have additional ideas!
ICE BREAKER: Pick up your game piece from Mud Dancer after you sign in!
RAFFLES: Two raffles will be available…”pick-a-prize” style, where you get to enter your raffle tickets for prizes you hope to win, and a 40/30/20/10 raffle. If you’d like to donate one or more items for the pick-a-prize raffle, let myself or Team Daisydog know. Raffle drawing will start around 1:30PM.
GROUP PHOTO: Will be taken after the raffle drawings.
TB RACE: Sherminator18 will be coordinating the TB race for 2017. Anyone who would like to participate get your TB activated and ready and bring it with you and Sherminator18 will get you all set up! See more details in her December 3 posting.
EVENT CACHE: There are a lot of options nearby for event caches! There's the wooded area of the park next to the lodge as well as a path that leads down to the Erie Canal path. Let me know if you'd like to place one or more event caches.
KIDS ACTIVITIES: Need a volunteer to put together some activities for the kids.
