O Halloween ou a Véspera de Todos os Santos é uma festa comemorativa celebrada no dia 31 de outubro de cada ano e é realizada em grande parte dos países ocidentais.
Halloween or All Saints' Eve is a yearly celebration observed in a number of occidental countries on 31 October.
A história desta data comemorativa tem mais de 2500 anos. Surgiu entre o povo celta que acreditavam que, no último dia do verão (31 de outubro), os espíritos saiam dos cemitérios para tomar posse dos corpos dos vivos. Para assustar estes fantasmas, os celtas vestiam-se da maneira mais assustadora possível e corriam as ruas carregando velas e fazendo barulho para afugentar os maus espíritos.
The story of this celebration has over 2,500 years. The festivity becomes among the Celts who believed that on the last day of summer (31 October) the spirits of dead people returned to the world to try to reincarnate in the bodies of people in that region. To face them, the Celts dressed in the most frightening manner possible and hit the streets carrying lit candles and making noise to scare away the bad spirits.
