St Peter, Yoxall
The cache is not at this location and is not in the church grounds
Church History
The church is of early C13 origin but was largely restored and partly rebuilt in 1865-8 by Henry Woodyer. The arcades and aisles are C14 and the much restored south doorway is of circa 1200. It contains a good alabaster tomb with effigies to Humphrey Welles (1565) and his wife and a stone canopied tomb with effigy to Admiral Henry Meynell (1865) by Baron Marochetti.
Church Micro Series
I have enjoyed a number of caches in this series in other parts of the country and was disappointed that Staffordshire had hardly any such caches. Hopefully the caches that we place will encourage other Staffordshire-based CO's to contribute to the world's largest series. If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
The Cache
On the front of the church porch is a 'Notice'.
Count the number of letters in the 5 words after the word 'Notice'. These are A,B,C,D and E
