Geocache Description:

Along the road to this cache you’ll find Lake Quinault Lodge that was built in 1926. Franklin D. Roosevelt stayed here when he was scouting for the creation of Olympic National Park. At the end of the road you’ll find the trailhead that leads into Enchanted Valley, or land of 10,000 waterfalls. In this lush valley on the south side of the lake is the Quinault Loop Trail and the nearby Quinault Rain Forest Interpretive Trail connecting campgrounds, trails, and the lodge, with excellent temperate rainforest viewing. Each trail was designated a National Recreation Trail in 1979.

When visiting this cache, please respect the wonderful tree here. Don’t climb on it or in it, please. The landowners have been gracious to let us place the cache in this unique place. Parking can be off the road and to the side of the driveway. THANKS for keeping this special.

Happy Caching.
