Geocache Description:

Welcome to beautiful Forest Park
and the Saint Louis Art Museum!

This event is a flash mob gathering of geocachers who are here attending Geocoinfest 2016 (GC631BQ) and any other geocachers who are so motivated to make the trek to beautiful Forest Park.

Like other flash mobs, this event will last precisely 30 minutes. Wait…who are we kidding? It’ll officially last 30 minutes, but we all know full well that people will hang out longer. It’s the geocaching way! This event will begin at 11:00 a.m. and will end at 11:30 a.m. It will take place on Art Hill, in front of the historic Saint Louis Art Museum in Forest Park.

Forest Park is located in the western part of the city of St. Louis. At 1,371 acres, it is larger than New York City’s Central Park. The park opened in 1876, and has hosted several significant events, including the Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904 (a.k.a., 1904 World’s Fair) and the 1904 Summer Olympics. The park features a variety of attractions, including the St. Louis Zoo, the Saint Louis Art Museum, the Missouri History Museum, the Jewel Box, and the St. Louis Science Center. All of these attractions are free, thanks to a special tax that area citizens pay. As a matter of fact, the St. Louis Zoo was recently ranked the “#1 Free Attraction” in the United States by the USA Today’s 10 Best Readers' Choice Awards.

The Saint Louis Art Museum, at which this event is located, is one of the principal art museums in the United States, featuring paintings, sculptures, cultural objects, and ancient masterpieces from all corners of the world. The building was designed by renowned American architect Cass Gilbert for the Louisiana Purchase Exposition of 1904 (a.k.a., 1904 World’s Fair). Originally part of the Palace of Fine Arts, the museum was the only building from the Fair designed to be a permanent structure. It stands as a reminder of that defining event in the history of the city of St. Louis and the State of Missouri.

EVENT DETAILS
(???-10:59 a.m.) All geocachers wishing to be a part of this flash mob should wait patiently in their vehicle, stroll around the area, take pictures, sit on a bench, engage in some "oohs" and "aahs" or otherwise act like a muggle. No? Find some geocaches while you wait, then!

(11:00 a.m.) Gather with your fellow geocachers, sign the log if you like and visit for a bit! People from all over the country and even the world will be here, so say hello!

(11:11 a.m.) Get together for an awesome group photo!

(11:30 a.m.) The event area will be evacuated without a trace. Get out and do some local geocaching, check out the rest of Forest Park or whatever strikes your fancy.
