Venez découvrir le port de Loguivy-de-la-mer
Le Bretagne est une terre de granites.
En effet, le granite fait partie intégrante du paysage breton et en fait une bonne partie de son charme.
Loguivy sur mer est une localité des Côtes d'Armor située au nord de Paimpol.
Le village est agrémenté d'un petit port que je vous invite à venir visiter.
Une des spécalités de Loguivy est le Bleu de Loguivy … c’est-à-dire le Homard mais nous ne sommes pas là que pour lui mais également pour découvrir le Gros Rocher à l’entrée du port.
La particularité du paysage de Loguivy est que la roche est du microgranite.
Le microgranite est un type de roche ayant la même composition minérale que les granites mais avec des cristaux beaucoup plus petits.
Le microgranite a ainsi une position intermédiaire entre le granite (roche plutonique à structure grenue) et la rhyolite (roche volcanique à structure microlithique).
Les microgranites ont:
· soit une structure microgrenue avec des cristaux de dimension inférieure à 1 mm, dont le grain est difficile à distinguer à l’œil nu;
· soit fréquemment une structure porphyroïde (porphyrique), avec de grands cristaux isolés dans une structure microgrenue
Les microgranites apparaissent souvent sous forme de filons comme par exemple le filon qui se trouve à Loguivy.
Le microgranite qui se trouve à Loguivy est une roche violacée lorsqu'elle est fraîche, rose lorsqu'elle est altérée.
En vous rendant aux coordonnées ci-dessus, je vous propose de répondre aux questions suivantes (envoyez moi un mail ou bien un message via le centre de messagerie ; je vous contacterai si vos réponses ont besoin d’un complément !)
1) Au toucher, pouvez-vous décrire la surface de la pierre ?
2) Au regard, pouvez-vous décrire l’orientation des différentes strates 7
3) Pouvez-vous expliquer pourquoi la couleur est ainsi ?
4) Estimer la hauteur du Gros Rocher
5) En regardant la photo ci-dessous, pouvez-vous me donner la taille de la plus grosse tâche ?
En reprenant votre route, arrêtez-vous à l’église et recueillez-vous devant la stèle des aviateurs qui rend hommage à l’équipage d’un B-26 américain disparu non loin de là le 17 février 1944.

Brittany is a land of granite.
Indeed, granite is part of the Breton landscape and in fact much of its charm.
Loguivy-sur-mer is a town of Côtes d'Armor north of Paimpol.
The village has a nice little harbor that I invite you to visit.
One of Loguivy specials is the Loguivy is Blue ... that is to say the lobster but we are not here to talk about good food but to discover the Gros Rocher (Big Rock) at the harbor entrance.
The peculiarity of Loguivy landscape is that the rock is microgranite.
Microgranite is a type of rock that have the same mineral composition as granite but with much smaller crystals. Microgranite has an intermediate position between granite (plutonic rock grainy structure) and rhyolite (volcanic rock Microlithic structure).
Microgranites have:
· a microgranular structure with crystal size less than 1 mm, the grain is difficult to distinguish with the naked eye; · or is frequently porphyritic structure (porphyry), with large single crystals in a microgranular structure
Microgranites often appear as veins such as the vein which lies in Loguivy.
The microgranite which is at Loguivy is a purplish rock when it is fresh, pink when altered.
By going to the above coordinates, could you answer the following questions (send me an email or a message through the message center; I will contact you if your answers need further explantations!)
1) by touching the stone, can you describe the surface of the stone ?
2) by having a look at the stone, can you describe the orientation of the various layers
3) Can you explain why the color is so?
4) Estimate the height of the Gros Rocher
5) Looking at the photo below, can you give me the size of the biggest black spot ?
While going away you can stop at the church and gather in front of the stele of the airmen that pays tribute to the crew of an American B-26 disappeared not far away February 17, 1944 .
