Lyle's Day on the LTA Mystery Cache

Lyle the lemming has a busy day in Manhattan! He has a lot of activities planned throughout the burrow err... borough. Luckily, the Lemming Transit System is a convenient and speedy way to travel the city. Lyle has his very own Metro Card and loves riding the LTA. And it’s better than the MTA – rodents are generally scorned on the subway :( Lyle always carries with him his handy guide to traveling the city as a rodent. Let’s see where he goes! 

Tips and Tricks for an Urban Lemming #1: Nobody ogles rodents that hurry 

Lyle gets on the subway at 34^th St Penn Station. He takes theup to 59^th St Columbus Circle to see Mouszart play at Lincoln Center. 

Wow, those Lincoln Center seats were much more spacious than the subway! Sadly, there’s only space for one performance in Lyle’s schedule – off to the next location!

After the show, Lyle heads back to the 59^th St Columbus Circle station and takes thedown to 14^th St to grab some geocaches in the neighborhood. 

After spending a period of time hunting, he realizes he has other appointments to get to!

Lyle scurries to the 14th St Union Square station and grabs theup to Grand Central 42^nd St station and snaps a photo with the Chrysler building.

Lyle goes back into Grand Central 42^nd St station and hops on the  over to Times Square 42^nd St. There sure are lots of people, but luckily being a lemming makes it easy to scurry through the crowds.

Tips and Tricks for an Urban Lemming #2: Whatever ensues, stay tucked-away

After stopping for lunch at the Plaza Hotel, Lyle gets on the  at 59^th and 5^th Av and takes it up to 59^th and Lexington Av. He grabs a popsicle and takes a leisurely walk uptown to visit the new Met Breuer museum.

The Met Breuer was lovely! It’s wonderful that the Met now has additional space to showcase art. And amazing that in the space of nearly 150 years the Met has only ever inhabited three buildings!

Lyle gets on the  at 77^th St and rides down to 51^st St. He walks to Rockefeller Center and has a good time ice skating and trying to sneak into the NBC headquarters (he knows he’d be a great talk show host!).

Unfortunately his TV career doesn’t pan out, but he does get some pointers from Ratt Lauer. After writing them all down with a ballpoint pen, he hurries over to the subway station.

Lyle gets on the  at 48^th St Rockefeller Center and rides down to 34^th St Herald Square. There, he transfers to the  and goes down to 4^th St Washington square. It sure is a beautiful day to go to Washington Square Park and intimidate the pigeons!

After that, Lyle heads back to the 4^th St Washington Square station and grabs the  down to Spring Street to take a leisurely stroll and meet a friend for dinner in (littler) Little Italy. Yum!
