Geocache Description:

One of the Village Sign Series, a pictorial sign in Fladbury, Worcestershire

A simple multi-cache with the co-ordinates for the final stage determined by a search northward from the pictorial village sign in the centre of Fladbury. The sign depicts a number of local activities and pursuits - leisure on the River Avon including fishing and canoeing and the fact that it was one of the first villages in England with electric light courtesy of a Victorian hydro-electric plant at Fladbury Mill. Agriculture also features with fruit growing, particularly plums but also apples and hops.

The published co-ordinates take you to the sign

For the final stage you need to discover the following:

The number of gravestones shown on the sign = A

Now head north

Nestling against the churchyard wall, Fladbury’s tourist attraction (that’s a joke!) is a boulder from North Wales. What was it carried here by? Number of letters in the answer = B

Now head up to the church. In the church porch is a memorial window to Donald and Rewi Blore. How many pieces of fruit are shown? = C

Continue north passed the school. On the front of the Parish Room is a stone inscription with a date. What is the date? = 1D0E

The final stage is at

N 52 07.(E - A)(D - C)(A + B)

W 002 00.A(A + E - C)(D - B)

The cache is a magnetic key holder. Please replace it so that the lid slides up - that should help keep the rain out. It is overlooked by adjacent houses so stealth and an air of nonchalance will be required

Parking is available around the village green – busy when the pub is open – and by the roadside. Fladbury doesn't have a general store so chocolate purchases are off the menu. However it does have an excellent butcher, two pubs and a hairdresser. So it’s a large pork pie, a pint and a quick trim, please.

******Congratulations to Harper-22, FTF******

If anybody would like to expand this series please do. I would just ask that you let Smokeypugs know first so they can keep track of the Village Sign numbers and names to avoid duplication.
