At the end of Hwy 112 Scenic Byway is Neah Bay and the beginning of the Cape Flattery Tribal State Scenic Byway. The first Tribal Byway in the country.
Cape Flattery sits on the northwesternmost point in the continental United States, where the Strait of Juan de Fuca meets the Pacific Ocean. The hike to the cape is worth the time, now that you are here. Be sure to pick up a Recreation Pass at a local store if you are going to do any hiking. Grab-and-go geocaching is allowed without the pass. You’ll be able to see Vancouver Island across the waters.
Cape Flattery is a land of rugged beauty consisting of dramatic headlands, sea stacks, and deep narrow sea coves. Scores of seabirds ride the surf and scavenge the sea stacks. If you are one of the lucky ones, you might catch a glimpse of whales migrating between Tatoosh Island and the cape.
