Geocache Description:

Kennett station opened in 1854 when the railway was extended from Newmarket to Bury St Edmunds. At one time there was a station master and three other members of staff, but from 1929 they were replaced by a 'Porter in charge'. In 1967 the station became an unstaffed halt on the Cambridge to Ipswich line, and in 1976 the main station building was demolished.

Today the station comprises two staggered platforms with waiting shelters, linked by an imposing new footbridge. The station is served by 10 trains each way to Cambridge and Ipswich.

Parking is available in the station car park for stage one. The final location is a short walk away or you may be able to park a bit closer.

The coordinates take you to the road bridge where there is a plaque. The top number is the bridge number ABCD, the other numbers are EF miles and GHJK yards and show the distance from the terminus. The cache is at:

N52 GH.(C+D)(F-C-H)(F-K) E000 (A+B)(F+D).(A+C+E+G)(C-J)(B+G)

You are looking for a small clip top container in a camo bag.

There are some smiley faces and a badge for FTF.
