George de Cachelotdragon
Langs één van de in- en uitvalswegen van de vruchtenbuurt, de gezelligste buurt van Nederland woont al jaren een draak. Een (Cachelot)dragon (potvis) George is zijn naam. Een zachtmoedig dier dat zó onopvallend is, dat ik wel eens beurtgenoten spreek die het dier nog nooit gezien hebben. Hij is er gekomen om de buurt een beetje vrolijker te maken. En misschien lukt dat nog beter, nu hij af en toe naar buiten mag. Wel aangelijnd aan zijn houder natuurlijk. En daar wordt hij zo blij van. Hij springt dan in het rond, dat ik wel eens bang ben, dat hij het ding uit de muur trekt. Nu nog een uurtje per week. En beetje bij beetje wat langer.
Wist je eigenlijk dat de Cachelotdragon geen vuurspuwer is, dat verwacht je ook niet van een potvisdraak, je verwacht eerder water. Maar dat doet hij ook niet, waterspuwen. Waar zou dat potvis dan vandaan komen? Google helpt ook al niet: sperm whale; cachelot; black whale; Physeter catodon; toothed whale. We zullen er wel niet meteen achter komen.

A (Cachelot) dragon (sperm whale) George is his name. A gentle animal that is so inconspicuous that I sometimes speak to fellow travelers who have never seen the animal. He came here to brighten up the neighborhood a little bit. And maybe that works even better, now that he can go outside now and then. On a leash to his holder of course. And that makes him so happy. He then jumps around, that sometimes I'm afraid he'll pull the thing out of the wall. One hour a week now. And little by little longer. Did you actually know that the Cachelot Dragon is not a fire-eater, you do not expect that from a sperm whale dragon, you rather expect water. But neither does he, spitting water. Where would that sperm whale come from? Google doesn't help either: sperm whale; cache lot; black whale; Physeter catodon; toothed whale. We won't find out right away. .
