We're All In This Together - Community Garden Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

jbjcubs: This cache has come to the end of it's life. However, it's a great spot and would be deserving of another CO's time and attention, especially given that it's a link in the chain of the massive Banbury Fringe series!

Geocache Description:

The cache is easily found and is designed for families and those who happen to be passing by on the very nearby Oxford Canal. Access is available 24 hours a day.

**It can also serve as a quick cache and dash for those coming through nearby Banbury Station, but isn't quite close enough to qualify as part of the SideTracked series (https://www.sidetrackedseries.info/).**

A cache hidden in Banbury's Community Garden and adjacent to the Oxford Canal. In addition to hosting local events, the garden contains a wide variety of locally grown vegetables.

More historically, the cache site would've been situated directly between the Saxon/early Norman villages of Banesberie and Grimsberie, today's Banbury and Grimsbury (just on the opposite side of the bridge and railway tracks). On this same spot in later centuries, you would have also been standing just in the shadows of Banbury Castle (which was destroyed in 1646-47, shortly after the First English Civil War).
