Fairview Library is located at 35 Fairview Mall drive.
Due to its proximity to a number of nearby schools, and also because it is a short walk from Fairview Mall and the Don Mills subway station, Fairview library tends to be quite busy. It is one of the larger libraries in the area (3 floors are readily accessible to the public) and has 10 individual quiet study rooms. These rooms are available for use on a first-come-first-served basis. There are two outdoor chess tables. The library also features an automated check-in and free parking.
Attached to the branch is a 4320 sq ft theatre (complete with dressing rooms). The theatre has a separate entrance to the library. This space is often rented out for theatrical productions. It can be amusing to find an actor dressed in Victorian era costume wandering around prior to a show.
The library was originally designed in the brutalist architecture style - exterior patterned concrete; exposed interior concrete -- and hints of bruitalism are still evident despite three renovations and modernizations.
