Thorncliffe Library is located at 48 Thorncliffe Park Dr and is a part of the Jenner Jean-Marie Community Centre.
The library was renovated in 2010 and reopened with increased floorspace and a KidsStop Early Literacy Centre with the theme of cars.
In dozens of high rise apartments, in an area 1 square kilometre, people from over 25 countries live, work, shop and go to school. Thorncliffe Park has always been a first stop for newcomers to Canada. Built in the 1960s and 70s as a planned community, the area was developed to house families from the baby boomer generation. Designed for 12,000 residents, there are now over 30,000.
The elementary school next door houses over 2000 students from K-6, making it the largest elementary school in North America. The school states that their popluation has representatives from 47 different countries.
