Kätkö sijaitsee sodan jälkeen ihmiskäsin ja hevosella raivatun pellon reunalla. Maat ovat Ranuan ensimmäisten tilojen mantaaleista erotettuja. Tällä hetkellä pellot ovat EU ajan koneellisessa viljelyksessä. Metsä on eläkeläisen harrastuspaikka. Vuosittain pellon ympärillä olevasta metsästä hakataan parikymmentä kuutiota polttopuuta.
