Geocache Description:

Travel south by boat on Atlin Lake to Peggy's Cove, on the mainland opposite Cariboo Island. A short walk on a slightly overgrown trail is the easy part, once you've arrived by boat. The geocache is the lure, the view is the real prize. The cache is small, and above the ground.

In the cove, be sure to read the memorial plaque. artist Peggy Milius spent many summers here on her paddlewheel raft, painting, and entertaining the many visitors she received in her chosen patch of wilderness. Once you've read the plaque, take a moment to appreciate that a retired lady would spend her summers here with her dog, enjoying this wild place alone. except for her dogs, and some wildlife visitors. I admired her courage, and commented I would have been worried about the bears. Peggy said they terrified her, but she didn't let that stop her... even when she had bears aboard her raft with her! A quick look reveals a small trail winding south through the bush. Follow it to the fork-left leads to the outhouse, right to the view point, and the cache.
