DE: Die im 8. Jahrhundert erbaute Klosterkirche birgt den weltweit umfangreichsten und besterhaltenen frühmittelalterlichen Bilderzyklus mit eindrucksvollen Fresken. Mit dem Klostermuseum Plantaturm erlauben die Nonnen einen Blick in die Klausur. Dadurch ist auch der älteste Burgturm des Alpenraums aus dem Jahre 960 zugänglich geworden. Die Ausstellung präsentiert die 1200-jährige Bau- und Wohnkultur.
Die Müstairer Klosterkirche St. Johann aus dem Jahre 775 mit dem um 800 entstandenen, weltweit grössten Freskenzyklus des frühen Mittelalters ist ein Juwel der bildenden Kunst der Karolingerzeit. Bis in den letzten Winkel war die Kirche ausgemalt, um 1200 wurden die Apsiden übermalt. Müstair verdankt Karl dem Grossen seine Existenz und Besonderheit. Die karolingische Kirche mit ihren einzigartigen Wandmalereien hebt das verträumte Alpenkloster in den Rang eines Weltkulturgutes. Entdecken Sie mit! - Die Nonnen erlauben die Besichtigung des hochmittelalterlichen Plantaturms von 960.
Im Gästehaus gibt es Zimmer für Einzelpersonen/Ehepaare im UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe. Den Aufenthalt im Kloster gestaltet man selber, Teilnahme an kirchlichem Gebet und Eucharistiefeier. Mahlzeiten mit den Gästen des Klosters im Speisesaal. Hauskapelle steht für Stille und Meditation zur Verfügung, seelsorgerische Betreuung ist möglich. Mehrmals im Jahr bieten die Klosterfrauen professionell geleitete Fastenwochen an.
Da der Gründer des Klosters vor genau 1'200 Jahren verstarb, wurde das Jahr 2014 zum Karlsjahr erkoren und der frühere Herrscher wird anhand verschiedenen Musik- und Theateraufführungen geehrt.

The convent museum in the Planta tower enables the nuns to provide visitors with a glimpse of the convent's inner workings. Hence the Alpine region's oldest castle tower, dating back to 960, is now accessible. The exhibition presents 1,200 years of monastic and architectural history.
The Müstair-based Convent of St. John dating back to 775 with the world's largest cycle of early medieval frescoes from around 800 is a gem of fine art from the Carolingian period. The series of paintings adorns the entire church. In around 1200 the apses were painted over. Müstair owes its existence and distinctive character to Charlemagne. The Carolingian church and its unique wall paintings raises this magnificent Alpine monastery to the standing of a World Heritage listed site. Join in the discoveries! The nuns have only recently opened the high-medieval Planta tower dating from 960 to the public.
Guesthouse Nine rooms for single persons/married couples at the UNESCO World Heritage site. Visitors are free to decide which activities they wish to take part in during their stay, and may participate in church prayers and the Eucharist. Meals are taken with guests of the convent in the dining room. The guesthouse chapel is available for reflection and meditation, and pastoral support is available. As the founder of the monastery died exactly 1200 years ago, the year 2014 has been named Charlemagne Year. The former ruler is honored with various musical and theater performances.

Benediktinerinnen- Kloster St. Johann...eine kleine aber feine, mittelalterliche Klosteranlage aus der Karolinger Zeit welche sich anzuschauen auf jeden Fall lohnt.
Die Ankerkoordinaten führen Dich vor den Eingang der Klosterkirche. Starte von hier Deinen Rundgang im und um das Areal der Klosteranlage und beantworte zwischendurch die Fragen welche Dich am Ende zum Cache führen werden.
Zum Cache:
WP1:
1. Wie viele Uhren zählst Du am ganzen Kirchturm (vielleicht musst du ein bisschen herumlaufen; die Sonnenuhr zählt nicht)? (= A)
2. Auf einer der Uhren erkennst Du eine Jahreszahl. Notiere sie. (= BCDE)
3. Wie viele Grabsteine oder Grabsteinsteinteile (höher als ca. 15cm; mit erkennbarem Text, Bild oder Beidem) zählst Du beim Kircheneingang? (= FG)
Alternative Frage für FG:
Anzahl Grabsteine links beim Kircheneingang * C + E = FG=19
4. Du siehst ein goldenes Schild. In wie vielen Sprachen ist der Text darauf aufgeführt? (= H)
WP2:
5. Schau an die Wand über dem Süd-Tor welches zum Innenhof führt. Wie viele Personen kannst Du
sehen? (= I = 4)
WP3:
6. Schau an die Wand des Turmes über dem Nord-Tor welches zum Innenhof führt. Wie viele "Schiessscharten" zählst Du? (= K)

Abbey of the Benedictines St. John...a small but nice, medieval abbey site from the carolingian period which is really worth to be visited
The anchor coordinates will lead you to the entrance of the abbey church. Start your round tour through the site from here and answer the questions which will lead you finally to the cache.
The cache:
WP1:
1. How many clocks do you count at the whole church tower (probably you have to walk around a little bit; the sundial does not count)? (= A)
2. One of the clocks has a year date. Note it. (= BCDE)
3. How many gravestones or parts of gravestones (taller than about 15cm; with visible text, picture or both on it) do you count at the entrance of the abbey church? (= FG)

4. You can see a golden plate. In how many languages the text on it is listed? (= H)
WP2:
5. Have a look at the wall above the south gate which passes to the courtyard. How many persons can

6. Have a look at the wall of the tower above the north gate which passes to the courtyard. How many arrow loops do you count? (= K)
