Geocache Description:

Part of a series taking you to some of our favourite places to spend time in Toronto.

Scarborough Civic Centre Library at 156 Borough Drive was branch number 100 for the Toronto Public Library system and opened in May 2015.  The library has won a number of awards for its design.

The library seasonally hosts an outdoor reading garden that is accessible from inside the building. A newly landscaped Scarborough Civic Green just opened up across from the main door of the library. The grass, trees, and seating invite people to relax outdoors and, with the park across the street and the Green Roof above, the space adds to the library's lovely green envelope.

The library itself is host to a number of special services.  Scarborough Civic Centre is host to the third Digital Innovation Hub (DIH) at Toronto Public Library. The DIH offers 3D printing, digital design studios plus other equipment.  There are also programs and classes for using all of this great technology. Scarborough Civic Centre is also currently one of five libraries that offer laptop lending services.  With registration, you can borrow a laptop for in branch use.
