L’anse de Penfoulic, lovée au fond de la baie de La Forêt-Fouesnant et abritée par la pointe sableuse du Cap Coz, exhale une quiétude rare. Eaux douces et salées se mélangent au gré des courants. Cette heureuse rencontre entre continent et océan a donné naissance à une vie foisonnante qui s’est installée de forêt en vasière et autour du marais. Aires de repos et de nourrissage, les étangs de Penfoulic et l'anse accueillent de nombreuses espèces d’oiseaux migrateurs. Chevaliers guignette, aigrettes garzette, tadornes de belon, mouettes rieuses, goélands bruns et argentés, cygnes parcourent les étendues ouvertes sur le large. En hiver les oies bernaches venues de Sibérie y trouvent un hâvre de paix. Dans les eaux agitées par les courants de marées, plies, daurades royales attirées par les parcs ostréicoles, mulets bars et poissons plats font la joie des pêcheurs.
De l'autre côté Port la Forêt est célébre pour ses skippers locaux comme ( Michel Desjoyaux, Roland Jourdain, Jean Le Cam, Vincent Riou et bien d'autres) et accueille 1300 places pour les plaisanciers. Le vieux port en face a gardé toute son originalité.
A l'intérieur des terres loin du tumulte, vous parcourrez une partie du GR34. En campagne vous traverserez le hameau de la Haie. Les sentiers côtiers vous feront découvrir de jolies perspectives sur le moulin mer , Cap Coz (vieux cap en breton) et le va et vient des bateaux.
Cette promenade variée et facile d'une distance de 5 kilomètres environ est praticable à pied. Le vélo est interdit sur les sentiers côtiers.

The cove Penfoulic, well hidden in the hollow of the bay of La Forêt Fouesnant, and sheltered by the sandy head of Cap Coz, exudes a feeling of absolute peace. Fresh and salt waters mix according to the whims of the currents. This fortunate encounter of the continent and the ocean gave rise to a rich life between the forest and the mudflat and around the marsh. The resting and feeding spaces of Penfoulic's pools and cove attract numerous species migratory birds. Sandpiper knights, egrets, shelducks of Belon, black-headed gulls, brown and herring gulls and swans, roam these expanses that open out into the sea. During the winter the bernacles geese leave Siberia find a refuge here. In waters toubles by the tides, oyster beds attract plaice and seabream , bars mules and other species also abound.
On the opposite side of the cove, Port la Forêt's local skippers such as Michel Desjoyeaux, Roland Jourdain, Jean Le Cam, Vincent Riou ( amongst many others) are famous. the port can harbour 1300 boats. On the opposite side,The old harbour as kept its character.
Inland, one may walk in peace along part of the GR34 and discover the hamlet of la Haie.
Along the coast one may see some beautiful views od the Sea Mill,
Cap Coz (the old Cape in Breton) and watch the passage of fishing and sailing boats.
This easy and varied walk covers about 5 kilometers. Cycling is forbidden on the coastal paths.
You will need to find 16 caches + 1 bonus..
