The Cache
The geocache is hidden in a Discover South Central Tennessee GeoTour water bottle.

The Location
This cache is placed by the rangers with permission on the grounds of David Crockett State Park. This is a challenging location to access, as such if you feel that you are not physically able to access this one you may exempt it from your "perfect attendance" attempt by using the code word "Exemption". We want everyone to enjoy the trail, but not to take any unnecessary risks.
This 1,100-acre park has a museum, staffed during the summer months, with exhibits depicting Crockett’s life here and a water-powered grist mill. In addition to the paved bike trail, the park has more than six miles of hiking trails. The trails offer scenic vistas of Shoal Creek and Crockett Falls, limestone bluffs, abundant wildlife and serene forest. The Overlook Trail runs parallel to the Shoal Creek Trail. Please observe all park policies, as it is a great privilege to be able to play here. This area closes at dusk. Please use trail heads and stay on the trails, there is no need to bushwhack.

The Area
Lawrence County is located in southern middle Tennessee, 75 miles from the state's capitol of Nashville. There are a host of attractions to explore, such as David Crockett State Park, the historic Crockett Theatre, a tranquil Amish community, and the Middle Tennessee District Fair. Created by an act of the Tennessee General Assembly on October 21, 1817, Lawrence County was formed from lands previously part of Hickman and Giles counties. It was named in honor of Captain James Lawrence (1781–1813), who while commanding the USS Chesapeake in an 1813 battle, issued his famous command: "Don't give up the ship! Blow her up."

The Discover South Central Tennessee GeoTour
The Discover South Central Tennessee GeoTour is a series of geocaches along the backroads and small towns of South Central Tennessee. There is no fixed itinerary, like on a traditional trail, but rather a series of points of interest in a self-guided, goal-oriented plan. We have created a special passport, which you can download here, which lets you track your progress as you hunt specially placed geocaches along the tour. This passport will help you collect “code words” to qualify for special geocoins for completion of the GeoTour.
