The Location
This cache is placed with permission on the Lawrenceburg Town Square.

The Area
Lawrence County is located in southern middle Tennessee, 75 miles from the state's capitol of Nashville. There are a host of attractions to explore, such as David Crockett State Park, the historic Crockett Theatre, a tranquil Amish community, and the Middle Tennessee District Fair. Created by an act of the Tennessee General Assembly on October 21, 1817, Lawrence County was formed from lands previously part of Hickman and Giles counties. It was named in honor of Captain James Lawrence (1781–1813), who while commanding the USS Chesapeake in an 1813 battle, issued his famous command: "Don't give up the ship! Blow her up."
