Date: Saturday 11 June 2016
Time: 10:00 - 12:00
The local community is working on making this park a conservancy after it fell into a state of decay with vagrants living here and the municipality not maintaining it adequately. It will be called the Gardens Conservancy and it runs from behind Norwood Mall from the listed coordinates (next to Hamlin Street) to African Street. They have support from various businesses and have managed to fence off the entire park in preparation for major clean ups to improve it. The park has been locked for a couple of months now as work in cleaning it up starts. I have liaised with the Residents' Association so that us geocachers can also help out and make this project a success.
Please park at the parking coordinates (at the fast food outlet) and walk down to the listed coordinates at the entrance to the park. We will meet here and then spread out along this park and pick up litter.
What to bring and wear:
-A hat
-Gloves
-Sturdy shoes
-Bottle of water
-A litter grabber and Gumboots if you have
Bags will be provided.
I hope to see you all there!
