Geocache Description:

A full day's hike with lots of bushwacking and rockhopping gets you to this remote and beautiful spot.  Excellent wilderness navigation skills are required.

A friend and I went waterfall-hunting in a part of the Pecos I'd never been to before.  We spotted a car at the Park2 waypoint, then drove to the Park1 waypoint, and started hiking from there.  We went up Doctor Creek on a barely visible trail.  After that there was no trail as we cut south through a saddle, crossed two branches of Indian Creek, climbed another saddle, and found ourselves in the North Fork of Macho Creek.  As hoped, we found many waterfalls as we hiked down this creek.  I left this cache by one of the most beautiful falls.  We continued downstream past more falls, narrow canyons, and cliffs, which made progress slow.  Reaching the main fork of Macho Creek, we climbed out of the canyon and back to our car.  Total distance 10 miles; time 9 hours.

Of course you can take any route you like to this cache, though private property makes the direct approach up Macho Creek impossible.  Spend some time studying the topo map before heading out.  The cache is at the base of a tree under a rock.  The spoiler picture will help you figure out which tree.  Hopefully, you will enjoy this rugged and remote area that rarely sees any visitors.
