Geocache Description:

This is the 447th of a series in which a red telephone box and a red post box can be photgraphed together.

The published co-ordinates will take you to the location of this 'Fine Pair'.

These phone boxes, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott in the 1920's, have become collectors’ items and an example of things quintessentially English.

For more information on these phone boxes, see the Wikipedia entry Red Telephone Box.

On the letterbox, you will find a "Postbox number": RHMN PQD
The phone number of the "Telephone box" is >(01342) GHIJKL
Use the numbers these letters represent to determine the co-ordinates for the cache as follows:

N 51° 04.ABC W 000° 03.DEF where

A = (G - J)
B = (N - J)
C = (H + L)
D = (M + K)
E = (Q - I)
F = (P + J)

If anybody would like to extend 'A Fine Pair' series you are welcome to do so but first please contact mattd2k and request a Pair number as he keeps track of the numbers and names of these caches to avoid duplication.

Note: BT no longer accepts the placement of caches in the telephone boxes whilst they retain ownership.

Have a nice day!
