Geocache Description:

In an effort to mitigate potential flooding in a nearby subdivision, the Town of Rothesay developed this huge basin to collect water during periods of heavy rainfall. Runoff and surface water is diverted from the adjacent residential areas, into the huge basin where it collects during storms, and drains away from the nearby homes during and after the storm. A walking trail has been developed by the Town around the basin. Canada Geese have adopted the basin, and can be seen in varying numbers, depending on the season, in the water and grasses of the basin. DO NOT PARK on Pettingill Road to access this cache. Please park at the Parking Coordinates provided, or use other nearby public parking.

Congratulations to ajlong for being FTF.
