Beautiful landscape, easy to get to, and neat history experience.
Built from locally-fired soft red brick, the restored 1900 schoolhouse remains in the heart of Shumway, Arizona less than five miles/eight km south of Taylor. The voices of its frontier children have grown quiet, yet today visitors can see their names etched into the soft bricks. With its vintage furnishings and treasured photographs, the Shumway Schoolhouse has been recognized as a living legacy.
