Geocache Description:

ENG Many would definitely associate Ziepniekkalns with the "Wall of China" - longest residential building in Riga. But the history of Ziepniekkalns is much older and more beautiful than the terrible buildings of 70 - 80s. In the middle of the district yiou will find Ebelmuiza Park, which is remarkable because of the outstanding oak trees - including the thickest oak Pardaugava .

Girth of the oak - 5,60 m , age - about 300 years . Although it is thoroughly treated with metal sheets and has lost several large branches during storms, it still greens. However, the last measurements show that Bisumuiza oak tree could soon overtake the title of the thickest oak tree of Pardaugava. The cache itself is located a bit away from the tree, where you can have a lovely view of this and another oak nearby.
