The best way to approach this cache is to cross over the highway using the pedestrian bridge. At the bottom you are in the preserve. Make an immediate right. You will see and area that has been cleaned up as they renovate the preserve. Use this area to find your way to the cache. If you go to the bird blind first and then walk to the cache you will get muddy and wet.
This is the Willow Lake Preserve and people walk from one side to the other for many reasons. Some enjoy nature, some just like to hang out while others use it as a shortcut from the train to home.
This is one of the few Parks Department property that does have a gate and is locked at night.
