This puzzle cache is continuing the theme of Exam Nightmare and Homework Nightmare. The solution is completely different, but the spirit is the same.
Anyone who has ever had children learning a musical instrument knows what this is about. And I am not talking about all the endless repetitions of simple pieces, the numerous sour notes, or anything like that. Those sounds are music to my ears (pun intended), because the student is learning to appreciate music just like I did and every one of those klunkers is beautiful in its way.
No, the nightmare of noise I am talking about is the endless whining, "Do I have to practice again? I dont wanna. It’s too hard. It’s not fair. I’ll never get it. It’s just stupid." Now, that is painful.
So as a public service, I have composed a piece that any student can learn. Next time your kid starts to whine about practicing, have him sit down and play this piece EXACTLY AS SPECIFIED. I figure you should get over five day’s rest [☺]
