Depuis la place de stationnement, dirigez-vous à pied le long d'un chemin en pierres. Tout au long de ce chemin, vous pourrez profiter de la mise en place récente de petites pancartes vous mentionnant le nom des plantes de la région.
Au bout de 600 mètres de marche, vous arriverez aux ruines de Ville Vieille, l'ancien village de l'Escale. Ces ruines se trouvent sur un emplacement stratégique au-dessus de la Durance. Les derniers habitants ont quitté le village vers 1895.
Si vous voulez pique-niquer près de ces ruines, un emplacement a été prévu avec des tables et bancs à l'ombre.
Arrivés tout au bout de ce chemin, vous profiterez d'une vue superbe de la Durance.
A votre droite, vous apercevrez Sisteron, devant vous, au premier plan, Château-Arnoux, au lointain, la montagne de Lure.
A votre gauche, si le temps est clair vous verrez la montagne Sainte-Victoire près d'Aix en Provence.
Il vous faudra compter 1heure aller-retour. Bonne découverte des lieux.

Description of the geocache: A beautiful lookout From the parking place, go by foot along a stone track. All the way along this track you can take advantage of the little signs recently put in place telling you the names of plants of the region. After walking about 600 meters, you will arrive at the ruins of “Ville Vieille”, the old village of l’Escale. These ruins are in a strategic position above the Durance river. The last inhabitants left the village around 1895. If you want to picnic near the ruins, a designated place has tables and benches in the shade. At the very end of this track you will have a superb view of the Durance river. To your right you will make out Sisteron, in front of you in the foreground is Château-Arnoux and in the distance is Lure mountain. To your left, if the weather is clear, you will see Sainte-Victoire mountain near Aix-en-Provence. You will need about 1 hour, from start to finish. Have fun discovering this place.
