This virtual cache is located in the heart of the Konza prairie in
the Flint Hills. Getting to this virtual cache will require a ~3/4
mile hike down a well traversed path. Dogs and bicycles are not
allowed on the trail.
The Konza Prairie Research Natural Area, sometimes called the
bluestem prairie, provides a unique outdoor laboratory of native
tallgrass prairie set aside for long-term research. The Konza
Prairie encompasses approximately 8,616 acres of native bluestem
prairie. As this park is a research area we were not 100%
comfortable with leaving a physical cache. Therefore, we chose to
make this a virtual find. This virtual cache is also placed with
the understanding that we will give way in the event that an
approvable physical cache is placed within .01 mile.
Before claiming this cache you must answer the following question:
The old iron well head has a large two digit number located
near the spigot - What are those two digits?
Before posting your log, e-mail your answer to

without e-mail confirmation will be deleted.
While in the area, also check out the Ashland
Township Virtual Cache.
