🇫🇮 Huomaa, että lokivihkon sisältävä pussi ei ole normaali minigrip, vaan ziplock. Se aukeaa vetämällä muovinen sulkija toiseen reunaan. Muista ottaa bonuskätkön vihje talteen!

Karkauspäivä on kätköilijöille erityinen päivä, koska monelle viimeisen puuttuvan kalenteriruudukon päivän täyttäminen onnistuu vain joka neljäs vuosi. 29.2.2016 oli myös itselleni viimeinen kätköilykalenterista puuttunut päivä. Järjestin karkauspäivänä keskiyöllä miitin ja piilotin Vuosaareen tämän viiden purkin sarjan kyseisen päivän muistoksi.

The Leap Day is a special day for many geocachers, as filling the find calendar with the 366th day can only be achieved every fourth year. February 29th, 2016 was the final missing day for me as well. I organized an event at midnight and hid this five cache series to commemorate this special day.

🇫🇮 Tapa 1. Lodjaus

Matkasi alkaa Rastilantien ja Kallvikintien risteyksen liikenneympyrästä, suuntana etelä. Välittömästi liikenneympyrän jälkeen huomaat autotien ja kevyenliikenteenväylän välisellä viherkaistaleella putkien muodostaman kaksois-T:n. Ohitettuasi putket tehtäväsi on laskea tien yli menevät vaijerit, joissa on lamppuja, seuraavaan liikennevaloristeykseen, josta voit jatkaa suoraan tai kääntyä sekä oikealle että vasemmalle, asti. Se, mihin suuntaan jatkat, määräytyy laskemiesi tien ylittävien lamppuvaijereiden lukumäärän mukaan:

10 kpl -> jatka suoraan

12 kpl -> käänny vasemmalle

14 kpl -> käänny oikealle

Seuraava tehtäväsi on laskea ohittamasi bussipysäkit tien varrella oikealla puolella, kunnes tulet risteykseen, josta et voi jatkaa suoraan.

1 kpl -> käänny oikealle

2 kpl -> käänny vasemmalle

Kun olet ylittänyt kaksi suojatietä, käänny seuraavasta risteyksestä vasemmalle.

Seuraava tehtäväsi on laskea risteyksiä, joissa on kääntymistä varten ryhmittymiskaista, kunnes tulet liikenneympyrään. Tuloksen perusteella valitset, mihin suuntaan jatkat liikenneympyrästä:

1 kpl -> käänny kolmanteen mahdolliseen suuntaan

2 kpl -> käänny ensimmäiseen mahdolliseen suuntaan

3 kpl -> käänny toiseen mahdolliseen suuntaan

Jatka eteenpäin ja ohitettuasi kaksi bussipysäkkiä käänny oikealle. Jatka matkaa, kunnes olet ohittanut jälleen kaksi bussipysäkkiä. Nyt näet oikealle osoittavan tienviitan, jossa on yhdeksänkirjaiminen sana. Kadulla on määräävä nimi ja vasemmalla puolellasi parkkipaikka, jonka lähellä on ovi, jossa mainitaan asia, jonka voit nähdä, mutta jonka tarkkaa sijaintia et voi määrittää kartalla. Katsomalla ympärillesi näet sillan. Korkeamman putken vaakaosaan on kirjoitettu nelinumeroinen luku (luvun numeroiden summa on 25) aaaa. Vähän matkan päässä etelään, koordinaateissa N 60° 12.784 E 025° 08.060 on bussipysäkki H4686. Oranssissa reunuksessa on myös toinen nelinumeroinen luku (jonka numeroiden summa on 7) bbbb. Tee näiden kahden nelinumeroisen luvun aaaa ja bbbb numeroiden perusteella Gade-koodiavain alla olevan ohjeen mukaisesti. Siirry muodostamasi Gade-avaimen perusteella saamiisi koordinaatteihin N ZP° WR.TMK E ACE° BN.QWB.

Myös tästä pisteestä löydät bussipysäkin. Myös tällä pysäkillä on oranssissa reunuksessa valkoisella pohjalla pysäkin nimi sekä kaksi numerosarjaa, Hxxxx sekä pienemmällä yyy. Muodosta yyy:n perusteella uusi Gade-avain ja siirry koordinaatteihin N RD° KF.ZHA E XYV° UN.GES.

Seisot nyt postilaatikon vieressä. Milloin se tyhjennetään? Lisää tyhjennysaikaan yksi tunti. Laskemasi kellonaika: zz:zz. Lopullisen kätkön sijainnin voit laskea tekemällä Gade-avaimen numerosarjoista yyy (jonka löysit aikaisemmin bussipysäkiltä) ja zzzz. Kätkön koordinaatit: N XA° PV.WLH E BUR° DN.ZKY.

Näin muodostat Gade-koodiavaimen

• Järjestä löytyneet numerot pienimmästä suurimpaan.
• Jos esimerkiksi löysit numerot 6, 17, 9 ja 6, muodosta numerosarja 16679.
• Muista toistaa numerot, jotka esiintyvät useammin kuin kerran!
• Lisää puuttuvat numerot (0-9) sarjan perään suuruusjärjestyksessä, esimerkiksi 16679023458.
• Täytä alla oleva lokerikko toistaen numerosarjaa, kunnes lokerikko on täynnä.
• Esimerkiksi a=1, b=6, c=6, d=7, e=9, f=0, g=2, h=3, i=4, j=5, k=8, l=1, m=6, jne.

🇬🇧 Way 1. Letterboxing

You'll start your journey at the roundabout at the junction of the streets Rastilantie and Kallvikintie. Head south. Immediately after leaving the roundabout you'll see two T-shaped pipes located at the median strip between the road and the combined footwalk / cycle path. Now count the overhead wires holding the street lights above the street until you reach the traffic lights where you can turn either left or right or continue straight. Use the count result to determine where to continue next:

10 wires: continue straight

12 wires: turn left

14 wires: turn right

The next task is to count the number of bus stops along the road on your right until you reach a junction where you cannot continue straight.

1 bus stop: turn right

2 bus stops: turn left

After crossing two pedestrian crossings, turn left.

Now you have to count the junctions where you have separate lanes for those turning left and/or right until you reach another roundabout.

1 junction with separate lanes: at the roundabout, take the 3rd exit

2 junctions with separate lanes: at the roundabout, take the 1st exit

3 junctions with separate lanes: at the roundabout, take the 2nd exit

Continue straight until you have passed two bus stops, then turn right. Continue along the road until you have passed two more bus stops. Now you should see a road sign pointing to the right with a nine-letter word in it. There is a parking area on your left. Next to the parking lot you can see a door with three words; the top Finnish word should be easily understandable even if you don't speak Finnish, meaning a thing which you can see but cannot reach. As you look around, you should see a bridge. Now you face a choice: if you came by a car, you can leave it on the adjacent parking lot and pay for parking. If you don't want to pay for parking, there is a free parking lot 550 meters away at the direction 284°; you can also use the map to find an alternate way to another parking area located some 500 meters away at the direction 44°, at the other side of the bridge and much closer to the cache. If you came on foot or by bike, just get to the bridge (either by stairs or the other available way) and cross it. Depending on which alternative you chose, you can now use the following directions to reach the cache or using them deduce its location.

I won't hesitate, so I'll head to the bridge and cross it. Afterwards I'll turn right, then left at the corner, continue straight and down the hill. As soon as possible, I'll turn right, continue further down and left when I see a building in front of me. Now continue straight. There is water on the left and a structure with "compartments" at T4.5 height at right. The letterbox can be found at the second compartment.

Way 2: GPS

If you want, you can find this Letterbox Hybrid in multicache style as well. Go to the coordinates N 60° 12.803 E 025° 08.058. You'll find there two pipes shaped like letter T. The higher pipe has a four-digit number aaaa written on its horizontal part (the sum of the digits is 25). A bit further south, at the coordinates N 60° 12.784 E 025° 08.060, you'll find the bus stop H4686. The orange edge has a second four-digit number bbbb (the sum of its digits is 7) written in a bit smaller font. Use these two four-digit numbers aaaa and bbbb to create a Gade key using the instructions below. Using the key you created, go to the coordinates N ZP° WR.TMK E ACE° BN.QWB.

You'll find a bus stop here as well, with the bus stop name and two series of numbers Hxxxx and yyy (written in smaller font). Using yyy, create another Gade key and move to the coordinates N RD° KF.ZHA E XYV° UN.GES.

Now you're standing next to a mailbox. When is it emptied? Add one hour to that. The calculated time: zz:zz. The final location can be calculated using the numbers yyy (found at the bus stop) and zzzz. The Letterbox can be found at the following coordinates: N XA° PV.WLH E BUR° DN.ZKY.

Creating the Gade solution:

• When you have found the numbers, do this: Sort the individual digits - low to high.
• If, for instance, the numbers you found were 6, 17, 9 and 6 sort the digits like this: 16679.
• Remember to repeat digits that occur more than once!
• Then complete the line, with the missing digits, e.g. 16679023458.
• Fill the table repeating the numbers in the line until it is full.
• now you have: a=1, b=6, c=6, d=7, e=9, f=0, g=2, h=3, i=4, j=5 and k=8

This was just an example. Do the same with the actual numbers you have found!
