Mega Riga Power Trail Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Leptoceratops: Hello!
I'm archiving your cache as it has been disabled for more than a one month and it is lost, completely damaged or inappropriate. Caches should be visited and maintained within 30 days after disabling.
Archiving a geocache is meant to be a permanent action. If a cache is archived by a reviewer or staff for lack of maintenance, it will not be unarchived.

If there are still leftovers from container I would appreciate if other players could collect them so that there is no trash in the nature.

Happy geocaching!

Geocache Description:

See the first version of Mega Riga Power Trail central cache - 113 fav. points and 79 images from the trail.
This is the the new version for the central cache in the power trail that has been placed to commemorate the MEGA RIGA event (the original first cache was GC4ARG1). The power trail contains 97 caches in the first loop, and 116 caches in the second (with few more non-MRPT caches on the way). Each cache is dedicated to a Latvian geocacher.

The trail runs in circles (with the exception of the road that leads to this cache) so that you can enjoy it on foot or on bicycle without the usual hassle of walking all the way back to your car. Although almost all caches are next to a forest road you should be very careful if you are not driving a 4x4 - some of the roads are very sandy, others can turn into mud rivers, there is the occasional ditch that runs across the road. In winter only few of the roads will be cleaned so even a jeep might have hard time getting through.

There is a bus that drives from Jugla to the starting point of the trail. Consult the route map to find the connection that works for you. You can also take the train to stop Baltezers or Garkalne although you will have to walk or ride a bit to reach the trail.

All caches (unless the hint says otherwise) are attached the same way. If a container is lost but you find the support, you are free to log it as found but please add a Needs Maintenance log so that I know which ones to visit and repair. All container are PET templates so if you can, bring some with you in case one needs replacement.

Please log your story in the "Found it" log on this cache - for understandable reasons I will not be able to read through every found log on every cache (but I will read every other log type). It is completely OK if for the other caches you will log just "TFTC", this is a power trail after all...

There are many places for setting up tent along the trail. Please remember that fireplaces are not allowed during summer so if you intend to spend the night, bring portable stove. There are picnic tables by the Aklais lake so that might be the best spot for camping.

Attributes for this listing are intended to be viewed as for the trail as a whole. Individual caches contain some more important attributes (such as "available in winter" for those caches where even 50cm of snow will not be a problem). If you see that a individual cache would benefit from another attribute, please add a "Needs maintenance" log mentioning which attribute should be added or removed. The same for incorrect D/T ratings.
